Supporting Parliamentarians on Analysis and Research in the Constituency Fellowship

Initiated in the year 2016, the Supporting Parliamentarians on Analysis and Research in the Constituency (SPARC) Fellowship is a Tata Trusts supported joint venture between the Swaniti Initiative and Constitution Club of India. The objective of the SPARC Fellowship is to support Members of Parliament in catalysing development in their constituency, by placing a dedicated individual in the constituency for a period of one year.

The main objectives of the programme are:

  • Catalysing constituency development by improving efficiency in delivery of government programmes, increasing the amount of funds allocated to rural development and improving the ecosystem of the constituencies in which the fellows are placed
  • Attracting and retaining the best professional talent to work in the governance space to improve overall efficiency of development initiatives
     

Coverage of the programme:
In the first year of the fellowship, 20 fellows worked in 20 constituencies in 16 states.
